iText RTF Library

iText RTF is a library that allows you to generate and manipulate files in the Rich Text Format on the fly.

Project description

The RTF packages used to be a part of the core iText distribution. These packages, written by Mark Hall, allowed you to create RTF documents from scratch and had limited support for importing existing RTF files.

In 2007, Howard Shank contributed a substantial amount of code that allows you to parse existing RTF files. It was decided to put all the RTF code in a separate jar file, starting with the iText 2.1 release. At the same time the deprecated version of RtfWriter was removed from the distribution.

For the moment there's very little documentation about the RTF library; especially about the newer code for RTF parsing.
